Assistance Services at AFC
We have an Accessibility Department and are doing what we can to ensure that we are not only ADA compliant but that Accessibility is thought of in as many aspects of the convention planning as possible. If you have any questions about accessibility needs, please reach out to us beforehand via email to accessibility@anotherfurrycon.com or visit our Accessibility Desk by Registration during the convention and we'll be happy to help any way we can!
Assistance with Lines
If you find it challenging to stand in line, please approach any nearby volunteer for assistance. They can either escort you to the front of the line or provide a chair for your comfort. In the absence of a volunteer, feel free to move to the front and inform the line manager of your needs.
Reserved Seating
We have specially marked seats for attendees requiring accessibility accommodations. You can find these seats, including wheelchair and powerchair spaces, marked with blue tape and chair signs. They are usually located near the front or along the aisles for easy access.
Hotel Accommodations
For specific room requests, floor preferences, or the need for a refrigerator to store medication, please reach out to us at hotel@anotherfurrycon.com. Our team is dedicated to ensuring your comfort and convenience.
Accessibility Desk
Visit our friendy staff at the Accessibility Desk by Registration during the convention to learn about everything we have available to assist you. We also have free earplugs, stickers, ribbons, face masks, hand sanitizer, communication aids, and large print maps available.
Registration and Entry Assistance
If you find it challenging to stand in line at the convention center entrances, please follow signage to the "Accessible Entry Lane" and let staff know if you require assistance. They will make sure your entry process is as smooth as possible. After you have your badge, you can proceed to the Accessibility Desk. If you require assistance from a personal attendant for accessibility reasons, they are welcome to accompany you for a reduced badge rate - please contact us for more information.
Personal Animals
While we all love animals and want them to be part of our lives, for the safety of all attendees we must ask that pets not be brought into the convention area. Exceptions are made for working service animals and animals that may be part of presentations that have been cleared with Another Furry Con. The convention center recognizes service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Only dogs and miniature horses are recognized as working service animals. Emotional support animals are not considered service animals.
If you have any questions regarding Accessibility, please email us at accessibility@anotherfurrycon.com or use the contact form. We look forward to seeing you at AFC!
