GENERAL POLICY SECTION
Policies
Welcome to Another Furry Con (AFC) Policies page! This is where important information regarding things like Code of Conduct, Weapons, Harassment, and more lives. For transparency, whenever this page is updated, the new date and time will be shown.
General Information:
Another Furry Con (AFC) is owned and operated by Furry Universal Representation for Education Arts and Literature (F.U.R.E.A.L.), a non-profit organization registered with the state of California. Within this document, AFC only refers to Another Furry Con, operated by F.U.R.E.A.L.
The purpose of AFC is to create a fun, welcoming, and safe environment for people of the furry community, and our goal is to enable our Attendees to have the best time possible. We believe in having a little something for everyone, from General Audience, to child-teen oriented, to 18+ events where ID is required. We estimate around 95% of AFC events are General Audience.
To help ensure Attendees have the best time possible while being in a safe environment, AFC requires all Attendees to agree to and comply with our policies set forth.
Membership:
Another Furry Con is a private event held at the Ontario Convention Center (OCC) and while the event is General Audience, AFC requires membership to attend. Membership may be obtained by pre-registering on the AFC registration website or in-person at the OCC during the event itself. Once a badge is obtained through registration, all members are considered 'Attendees' of the event.
Badges issued for AFC may only be used by the registered individual linked to the badge during registration. Badge sharing is not permitted and may result in revocation of badges found to be shared. Lost badges should be reported to registration as soon as possible for deactivation. Any stated plan to or act of tampering, modification, duplication, or imitation of badge security features will be grounds for removal from the premises and revocation of any badges issued.
Registration:
Another Furry Con requires membership to attend. Registration may be purchased on our website or in person during the convention. General registration rates are generally discounted the earlier in the year you purchase them and the most expensive on-site during the event. Discounted pricing will only be honored if the purchase is completed during the discounted dates.
Payment methods accepted are major credit cards online and on-site. Cash is accepted onsite as well. No personal or cashier checks are accepted for registration at any time.

If you are 16 or 17 years of age, and you fail to bring a notarized form, or bring your parent or guardian along with you, you will be turned away at the door.
ATTENDEES 15 YEARS OF AGE OR YOUNGER ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 27, 2024

Refunds:
Please note that we will only accept refund requests until September 10, 2024. After this date, we will no longer accept refund requests.
As much as we hope everyone planning to come to AFC can attend, we understand that people have events in their life that make them unable to attend even after they have registered.
We cannot accept requests made by private message on Twitter, Telegram or any other methods. Refund and rollover requests must be made by email to registration@anotherfurrycon.com. Please send the following information:
LEGAL NAME
BADGE NAME
EMAIL used to register
Refunds and rollovers must be requested from the email address used to register. Failure to do so will delay the processing of your refund.
If you purchase registration for someone else, it belongs to them, and they have the right to decide if and how they wish their registration refunded or transferred, subject to the refund/rollover rules.
AFC will attempt to issue a refund in the manner it was paid for. Due to the policies of credit card companies, any refund requests received 364 days or more after payment cannot be refunded by credit cards. AFC will mail a check in these instances.
REFUNDS AFTER SEPTEMBER 10, 2024
For those who find that they will be unable to attend the convention after the refund deadline, you may request that your registration be rolled over to the following year. Rollovers have no cash value, cannot be refunded at any time, and will only be good for the following convention year. If the rollover is not used the following year, it will be forfeit. Requests for deferring your registration must be received on or before midnight (GMT-8) September 25, 2024. After this date, rollover requests will not be granted.
Safety:
AFC believes in the safety of its Attendees and, as such, is working with the OCC and Ontario Police Department (OPD) to help ensure safety is being taken seriously. Part of this will include magnetometers that Attendees will pass through to get into the OCC. If deemed higher risk, a secondary screening may be conducted, including wand, bag check, and other checks. AFC will also have its own Volunteer Safety team for wristbands, prop checks, line management, and more.
By being at AFC, you, the Attendee, agree to not engage in or create situations that may become disruptive, hazardous, harmful, or enact violence on other Attendees, property, Staff, or animals. If AFC Staff, OCC Staff, OCC Security, or OPD tells you to stop something, you must cease immediately. If you feel that the request made was unfair or should be reconsidered, you may bring this up at a later time with the Convention Chair or Vice-Chair, but please comply at the moment. Repeat offenders or those purposely causing harm to others or property may result in your membership being revoked and your AFC badge removed. Should this happen, you will not be able to attend the convention for the remaining duration. Please note that this is the last thing we want to do to any Attendee, so please don't force us to.
Weapons:
No weapons of any kind are allowed during AFC or allowed to be brought into the OCC. This includes but is not limited to:
Weapons or props that shoot projectiles (nerf guns, silly string, water guns, bow and arrows, sling shots, mace, and any functional guns/weapons are included in this).
Live steel or metal pointy objects blunt or sharpened (swords, daggers, and knives are included in this).
In short, if it looks like it can be used as a weapon and can be easily mistaken as a weapon, please leave it at home.
Props:
Props may be allowed on a case-by-case basis subject to approval and peace bounding by AFC Staff. Props that are part of a costume or used for performance purposes may be allowed with AFC Staff approval, such as a bow with no arrow, light sabers (during performances and not allowed to be handled as a weapon or engage in combat outside of a performance), non-functioning devices/replicas, and other props. These items must be cleared and peace bound by AFC Staff to show it has been AFC approved. For further information, you can email info@anotherfurrycon.com with any questions regarding props you desire to bring to AFC.
Personal Conduct:
Within the convention space, there are rules and regulations that must be followed in regard to how Attendees conduct themselves. We want Attendees to have as much fun as possible, but there is a difference between having fun and being disruptive or dangerous to others or property around you. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:
Fighting, rough-housing, vandalism of the hotel or convention property, threatening others, or abusive language in convention areas, including hotels.
Hate speech, including attire and wearables.
Sleeping on the OCC property (including the parking lots). Those sleeping will be woken up and asked to retire to their room.
Failure to dispose of waste in the proper receptacles. Litter should not be left on tables used for convention activities nor left on the floor. While there will be ushers, please do your part in picking up behind yourself.
Congregating in front of the elevators, except with the purpose of taking an elevator, or blocking the hallways. Please keep the flow of traffic moving or find an area that doesn't impede it to congregate.
Attempting to access Staff only, Employee only, Service elevators, or any off limits areas of the OCC, partnered hotels, and its respective venues.
Impersonating OCC Staff, AFC Staff, OPD, or Security. This is one the quickest ways to have your badge removed and possibly face legal charges by the State.
Any member caught performing any illegal activity that violates local, state, and/or federal laws will be subject to having their membership revoked and will be referred to the proper authorities.
Harassment & Assault:
Simply put, "No" means no, and "Stop" means stop. If an Attendee asks you to leave them alone, go away, or stop something, cease immediately. If you feel someone is failing to understand this, please go to Con-Ops or find a Safety team member for assistance.
We want everyone to enjoy their time, and AFC has a strong stance against harassment and assault of any kind, whether in convention space or hotel space. This includes but is not limited to unwanted contact, following someone without legitimate reasoning, threatening violence, or negatively provoking another person or animal. Offenders may have their badge removed and, depending on the matter, may be reported to proper law enforcement authorities.
If you feel you are being harassed, we encourage you to immediately seek a Staff person or head to Con-Operations.
Costume is not Consent:
Additionally, wearing a fursuit or costume does not grant anyone else license to make inappropriate or suggestive comments or gestures. AFC is a welcoming convention and part of that includes welcoming cosplay of popular TV series, animations, and video games, welcoming mascots and fursuits, whether original or not, and more. Regardless of the costume, harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. If the costume in question is offensive, the wearer may be asked to leave the convention space by AFC leadership. AFC reserves the right to have the final say on what is and isn't considered offensive.
Drones:
Due to safety reasons, drones are not allowed in or around the OCC property. A drone may be operated by AFC appointed licensed professionals to record AFC events with prior approval from AFC leadership and OCC..
Pets:
Pets are not allowed in the Ontario Convention Center, and each hotel will have its own policy regarding pets. Service animals are welcome in all hotels and the OCC. Animals other than humans, canine service animals, and miniature horse service animals will not be permitted with the OCC. Emotional support animals will not be considered service animals for the purpose of this policy.
Public Display of Affection:
Please use common sense and common courtesy in common spaces of Another Furry Con. Things like light kissing or hand holding (regardless of sexual orientation) is permitted, however, tongue kissing (making out), groping, and nudity is not allowed in public or convention spaces.. If an AFC or OCC Staff member informs you that you're being inappropriate, please comply.
Smoking and Vaping:
The Ontario Convention Center and partner hotels are smoke-free environments (including vaping). Venues may have a designated smoke area, and it is the responsibility of the Attendee to locate these areas for smoke breaks. If you are a smoker, please be respectful of our non-smoking guests and maintain a distance of at least 50 feet from any venue entrance when smoking outside.
Illegal Substances:
The sale or purchase of any controlled substance is absolutely forbidden at Another Furry Con. Any Attendee using any controlled substance must have a proper permit or prescription. Any Attendee discovered selling, buying or using any illegal substance in any part of the convention space (including hotels) will immediately have their membership revoked and will be referred to drug enforcement authorities. You can’t use, smoke, eat or vape adult-use cannabis in public places, nor bring it onto OCC property.
Buying & Selling:
Another Furry Con has designated areas such as the Dealer’s Room, where merchandise and services are sold. Any person selling goods or services in exchange for monetary compensation (payment) must be registered as a seller with AFC, beforehand. AFC takes its legal obligations very seriously in regard to tax and reporting information. Anyone discovered selling goods or services or soliciting in exchange for payment in AFC event spaces or hotels while not being previously authorized by AFC to do so may have their membership badge revoked.
Photography & Video:
Another Furry Con wants all its Attendees to capture moments and share their experiences. Recording and photography are allowed in common areas of the convention, and as the Attendee, you understand that you may be photographed or recorded while in common spaces of the convention. However, restrictions and rules may still apply, such as being followed and recorded without consent, being photographed or recorded after being asked not to, or similar. In situations like this, recording and photography are not allowed and may go against the Harassment section of this document. The rule of thumb is if someone says "Stop", cease immediately.
Recording of any 18+ panels or areas is strictly forbidden, as well as capturing Attendees going in and out of these areas. Please use common courtesy in this regard; if you have to question whether something should or should not be recorded, it's best not to record or capture it.
Photography and/or recording of any kind for the purpose of sales or publication to the press is strictly forbidden unless clearance was given by F.U.R.E.A.L. ahead of time. Absolutely no media or press publications are allowed to register on-site, this must be done in advance. Furthermore, any vloggers, YouTubers, TikTokers, etc. with the intention of 'exposing' or negatively impacting the furry community will not be allowed or tolerated. This includes but is not limited to pranksters, press, or media publications.
Attendees should be aware that Another Furry Con does plan to livestream the convention with a professional AFC appointed team. These Staffers and professionals will be working in an official capacity with AFC and will only record in open spaces and certain Main Events panels. For these panels, the focus will be on the participants, not the audience.
Termination & Revocation of Membership:
Another Furry Con would like for everyone to enjoy their time at the convention and the last thing AFC wants is to be forced to revoke an Attendee's membership. In the rare event that this must happen, the person must leave the convention and may not purchase or wear another badge to get in. This would be considered sneaking into the convention, which may be met with legal ramifications, including being trespassed from the property.
Only the Convention Chair, Vice-Chair, or Board member of AFC may revoke an Attendee's badge before the event date. Should this happen, the person will be notified via their registration email and informed why this is happening. On-site, only the Convention Chair, Vice-Chair, or Board member have the authorization to revoke a membership. Additional individual(s) may be granted authorization at the discretion of the Convention Chair, Vice Chair, or Board Members on-site.
If you have any questions regarding any of the policies, please email us at info@anotherfurrycon.com or use the contact form. Again, we want everyone to have a safe and fun convention. These policies are for transparency purposes so Attendees know what is and is not allowed at AFC.
Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you at the convention!
